Game Design

The goal of designing this game is for me to provide the players with a stress reliever that they could play without an internet connection

The game control is designed to be extremely simple to learn.

Requiring the player to only tap left or right

Soda Chan will perform a random set of attack whenever the player taps the screen. The reason for this design decision is to make the combat feel less repetitive and predictable.

Tap! Tap!

Whack a mole, Soda Style!

Combined with exaggerated feedback, this is to give the player a sense of satisfaction for every tap on the screen.

Spin to win

Although the game is made for a short experience, I have designed a progression system which rewards the player with experience points (XP) for defeating an enemy.

The players will eventually level up and be awarded coins, which they could use to purchase upgrades that make Soda Chan stronger and enhance the exhilarating experience when playing the game.

Progression displayed in a form of vending machine

In order to provide a challenge to an ever-growing Soda Chan. The enemies will grow stronger after the player reach a certain threshold in the game.
